Details

In preparation for a disaster, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) has concluded an agreement with private organizations regarding emergency road inspections, emergency measures for damaged areas, and debris removal work during a disaster.
The TMG, jointly with other prefectures and cities, newly concluded a three-party agreement with the Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Tourism and the Kanto Branch of the Japan Federation of Construction Contractors in order to enable requests to implement disaster emergency response work and procure construction materials according to the situation of the disaster with the aim to prevent the expansion of damage and to quickly restore afflicted facilities.
In the event of a large-scale disaster affecting a large area in multiple prefectures, the amount of damage will be enormous and there may be a convergence of requests from neighboring municipalities. Therefore, during such large-scale disasters, we will be able to receive prompt and smooth support for damage in Tokyo Prefecture by making requests throughout the country based on this agreement.
