Regarding the creation of the "Handbook for confirming the safety of students at the time of a disaster"

Tokyo Metropolitan Government has created a "Handbook for confirming the safety of students at the time of a disaster" that includes the method of confirming and contacting the students regarding their safety, for disaster prevention personnel at facilities in Tokyo such as schools, as follows.

1 Background of the creation of the "Handbook for confirming the safety of students at the time of a disaster"

In a survey aimed at citizens, "Family safety information" is cited most frequently as a matter of concern when it comes to people who become stranded persons at the time of a disaster. In order to resolve concerns about family safety , it is important to communicate smoothly information regarding the safety of students to parents from facilities such as schools and nurseries to which students belong when a large-scale earthquake occurs.

2 Point of the "Handbook for confirming the safety of students at the time of a disaster"

  1. It can also be used as a manual as the handbook can be written on directly
  2. Includes a safety confirmation checklist that can be used when a disaster occurs
  3. Includes example phrases for safety confirmation (with English translation) that can be used by copying and pasting
  4. Includes examples of safety confirmation training that can be practiced immediately

Easy to use compact size (41 pages in A5 size). It's a manual that can be written on with a pencil.

3 Distribution target and schedule

Distribute to the following facilities (approximately 11,000 facilities) located in Tokyo during November, 2017 (planned)
